What is a playlist? It's a text file that contains the data of channels, server, and your access details, this file you need to put in your player. There are two ways to do this:
- download the file and put it into the player (not recommended);
- tell the player to do it on its own - for this you add a link to the playlist (or the address of the playlist) in the player, and the player will download the necessary file (recommended).
As a result of any changes in the playlist - changing the server, deleting or adding channels - it needs to be updated in the players of your devices.
Wait a few seconds to activate the changes, then your actions depend on how the playlist is entered in the player:
- if the playlist is entered by a link (address) and if the player 's settings specify "refresh the playlist when the player starts", then just restart the player;
for other playlist settings in the player, click the "Refresh Playlist" button;
in this way of entering the playlist in the player, the player itself will download the new playlist file and replace it with the old one;
- if the playlist is entered by a file, then download a new file from a playlist and replace with the current one in the player, then click the Refresh Playlist button;
- cloud players, like ott-play (FOSS and DRM), refresh the playlist by restarting the player, but sometimes it fails (in case you make changes to the channel list in the player), then in the player you need to delete all channel categories except the All category (you won't be able to delete it) and restart the player;
- we do not recommend the OTT Pleer player for use and therefore we do not provide hints and instructions for it;
why we do not recommend it can be found in the instruction, one of the reasons being difficulties with playlist updating.
